Palm Beach broker with over $1B in sales leaves Corcoran for Christie’s Premier Estate Properties
From The South Florida Business Journal, January 3, 2018
Jim McCann, who has brokered more than $1 billion in home sales in wealthy Palm Beach over the past decade, has moved from Corcoran to Premier Estate Properties, which is part of Christie’s International Real Estate.
McCann is one of the most experienced brokers on the island, with 32 years under his belt. Along with his long-time associates Maryellen Cantera and Kristina Parker, he’s moved into a new office that Premier Estate Properties set up for him at 125 Worth Ave. That is the sixth office for Premier Estate Properties, which focuses on homes priced $1 million and up.
According to the brokerage, McCann has brokered over $100 million in sales annually since 2007. He focuses exclusively on Palm Beach, one of the most expensive residential markets in the United States.
“I have known the owners of Premier for about 25 years,” McCann said. “We share the same business philosophy and that is to be committed to achieving the best results for the client and to do so with a concierge level of service.”
McCann previously co-owned a brokerage on Palm Beach before selling it to Corcoran in 2014. He’s excited about joining Premier Estate Properties because of its affiliation with Christie’s, a luxury auction house that also has 1,200 real estate offices in 46 countries.
“The synergy between the auction business of Christie’s and real estate is an invaluable resource for us,” McCann said. “The buyers of luxury artwork and jewelry and other auction items are the same customers who buy high-end or luxury real estate.”
“These are proven experts in the marketing and sale of high-value properties, and also in fully leveraging the power of our luxury brand to introduce these finest homes to the world,” said Rick Moeser, executive director of Christie’s International Real Estate. “Premier Estate Properties’ expansion into Palm Beach is a formidable asset for buyers and sellers in both Palm Beach and globally.”
McCann said he expects the huge increase in home values in Palm Beach to continue, as the town has attracted many executives, wealthy families and entrepreneurs from high-tax states, especially from the Northeast and Midwest.
Palm Beach is among the South Florida ZIP codes with the most $1 million homes, according to Zillow.
“It still has an elegant feel and a small town feeling as well,” McCann said.
